Dalit girl’s shattering tale of abduction, assault and molestation; Video surfaces
New Delhi: In another crime against women, a Dalit girl was kidnapped from her house while she was sleeping and forcefully taken to a sugercane field where she was subjected to groping, harrasment and also castiest slurs.
The incident took place on August 14 in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur where the accuse also shot the video of the incident and made the viral on the internet later.
In the video, a group of 6 men can be seen snatching the victim's body, pushing her to ground and then picking up by pulling her hair. The video showed that the accused also tore the girl's clothes. The tortured girl pleaded the accused to let her go but the continue the shameful act.
The victim shouted, yelled and called her father to come in her rescue. As soon as the family and villagers reached the sugercane field where the incident took place, the miscreants ran away.
Didn't file complaint out of shame
The victim's parents informed that they were sleeping when a few men intruded in their house and took the girl with themselves. They said the miscreants are those whom they had a conflict with.
Furthermore, the parents did not file the complaint as they were ashamed of the incident and worried over public opinion on the harrasment with their daughter. However, the miscreants later made the video public by posting it online.
This made them approach the police over the brutality done with their daughter. As per the media reports, the Jaunpur police has arrested all 6 accused in the matter.
People on internet sharing the video condemning the act and demanding strict punishment for those behind the act.
Police statement
Meanwhile, the Jaunpur Police said, "In relation to the incident, on the complaint of the victim's mother, the investigation is being conducted by the Jurisdictional Officer, Machhalishahar, after registering the case at Machhalishahar police station."
"06 suspected accused related to the incident are being interrogated by taking them into custody. Other necessary legal proceedings are on," it added.
