Even now, our society views falling in love as a crime. A female is not allowed to pick the boy she wants. In the name of fake honour, he is murdered. In Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, one such love tale came to a tragic end when the girl’s family killed her in the name of honour. The lover also killed himself at the same time by ingesting sulfas. According to media sources, the police’s carelessness, in this case, is now becoming apparent.
Girl goes missing under suspicious circumstances
The case is connected to the Mirganj police station’s Kapoorpur village. Vikas, a young man, resided in the village with his mother Rekha. He was employed by a private corporation. Vikas was having an affair with Manu, a girl from the countryside. They both adored one another and desired to marry. But, Manu’s family disapproved of her friendship with Vikas. Her family members began to press her, even leaving the house was prohibited.

Adding to it, she was forced to marry elsewhere despite opposing to the marriage. She was amandant that she intended to marry Vikas. ‘If I am forced to marry someone else, I will make a statement to the police.’ Thus, instead of Manu, her younger sister Damini married on February 9. However, Manu went missing after the marriage under mysterious circumstances.
Boyfriend takes own life
During this time, Manu’s family members filed a report against Vikas at the police station, claiming that their daughter had gone missing due to him. The police then began questioning Vikas. Vikas was unable to take the agony of his missing lover and police harassment. He committed suicide by consuming sulfas tablet.
Vikas’ mother then filed a case against six persons. It also stated Manu’s name. Rekha, the deceased’s mother, stated that Manu was coerced into marrying Vikas and that she warned her son about her. In addition, she accused the Mirganj inspector of requesting a bribe.
Emotional audio discovered
The police are looking into the case and have got hold of an audio recording of Manu and Vikas conversing. In the 43-second audio, Manu tells Vikas, “My family members have beaten me so much. They intend to kill me. You too, stay safe. Something bad could happen to you as well.”

Vikas then tells Manu that if anything goes wrong with her, he would put everyone in jail. The female then claims that she was severely beaten by her family and that they intend to kill her. ‘My family members will be held accountable if I die.’ In the recording, she can be heard crying.
The villagers are debating whether or not the missing Manu was murdered for the honour. The police are now thoroughly looking into the case.
