Growing Apprehension Ahead of Diwali
Anita Joshi, the President of Sector-51 RWA, disclosed that over the past 12 days, more than a dozen houses have reported instances of locks being broken. Thieves are boldly entering homes without hesitation, with CCTV footage capturing their intrusion into various houses. A formal complaint has been filed with the Sector-49 Kotwali police; however, the culprits behind the lock-breakings remain at large. These occurrences have instilled a climate of fear among the sector’s residents, who suspect that a criminal gang may be plotting a significant theft before the Diwali festival. To counter this threat, they have appealed to Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh for enhanced security measures.
Police on the Hunt for the Offenders
Anita Joshi asserted that the miscreants responsible for breaking locks have not engaged in theft within the targeted houses. A list of houses where lock-breakings have transpired has been compiled and provided to local law enforcement. She emphasized the need for heightened nighttime patrolling by the police to identify and apprehend the culprits. In response, police officials have confirmed an increase in patrolling efforts. They anticipate the swift identification and apprehension of the individuals responsible, with the motive behind their actions to be revealed only after their arrest.
