Kolkata: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee blames political rivals for orchestrating violence at RG Kar Medical College, in connection to the doctors’ protest against Kolkata woman trainee doctor rape and murder.
According to PTI, CM Banerjee told reporters that the Police is investigating the case and that she has no objection with either the protesting students or the doctors. She pointed out “Certain Political Parties trying to create trouble”. She also insisted on watching the attack on the videos surfaced to know what exactly happened.
CM Mamata Banerjee’s Allegations
As per India Today’s Report, CM specifically accused BJP and the left for planning the mob attack and ingniting violence. “I saw flags of the Left and BJP…” Banerjee said. Elaborating on the way the police were attacked, she informed that one of the officers-in-charge went missing for straight one hour, only to be found injured later.

Opposition planned the attack?
TMC Supremo said that the didn’t sort to any kind of force. “We’ve never acted like that inside a hospital though we’ve conducted many agitations (Aandolans).”A day before, CM Mamata Banerjee has accused the opposition parties of taking advantage in the Kolkata Rape-Murder Case. She alleged that they attempted to seize power in West Bengal like Bangladesh protests.”
On August 5, New-Delhi friendly Sheikh Hasina was removed from PM’s position almost after one month student protest over Bangladesh’s quota system.
Women in Kolkata and other West Bengal cities took part in a ‘Reclaim the Night’ protest but shortly after it unfolded, the RG Kar Hospital was attacked in the middle of the night. The 31 year-old post-graduate doctor was rape and murdered in RG Kar Medical Hospital, leading to CBI investigation.
