Kolkata: RPF Busts Train Theft Gang In Howrah, 12 Held In June Drive

In a bid to enhance passenger safety and strengthen security on trains and at railway premises, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Howrah Division has intensified its crackdown on Theft of Passenger Belongings (TOBP). As part of a special operation conducted between June 22 and June 26, 2025, RPF teams apprehended 12 offenders involved in thefts across the division. The targeted action came in response to rising complaints submitted through the Rail Madad platform.

The RPF relied heavily on real-time CCTV surveillance, which proved instrumental in tracking suspicious activity and identifying culprits. Several offenders were caught red-handed while attempting to steal passengers’ belongings.
