Kolkata: Canadian Rapper and Singer AP Dhillon joins the clarion call of celebrities through an emotional song on the Kolkata rape-murder of a 31-year-old post graduate trainee doctor in RG Kar Medical Hospital. He demands justice for the same with a protest song dedicated on women’s safety in India. He voices his concern on the tragic incident and raises question “Is being born as a girl child a curse?”.
Through his heart-warming song, he expressed his feelings over the Kolkata rape-murder tragedy. On his Instagram story, the singer wrote, ” Woke up today wanting to let my thoughts out the only way I know how…”

The emotional song in Punjabi expresses the tale of the Kolkata victim saving so many lives and souls, meanwhile Dhillon seeks answer from God on “how could her fate end so tragically?” The songs also refers to the incident happened 12 years ago with Nirbhaya.

On August 9, a 31-year old Kolkata trainee doctor was raped and murdered in the seminar hall of the RG Kar Medical Hospital, leading to CBI investigation. On August 10, Police arrested a civic volunteer, in connection to the case. On the night of August 14, thousands of people marched in Kolkata’s streets, demanding justice for the lady doctor and ending crime against women. Protests also erupted across the nation showcasing solidarity for the tragic incident.
