Karnataka: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) approved night landings at Kalaburagi Airport in Karnataka on Monday. Permission was granted to operate flight services in all weather conditions.
DGCA flight landing night facility the airport’s Aerodrome Licence has been changed from VFR (Visual flight rules) to IFR (Instrumental flight rules).
The Kalaburagi Airport opened in November 2019. The announcement stated that there has long been a demand for the airport to provide night landing facilities. According to the release, the airport features a 3175m x 45m runway (09-27) and an apron that can accommodate three aircraft—one narrow-body A-320 and two regional jets, ATR 72/Bombardier Q-400.
