Gurugram: The Kanwar Yatra has also started with the beginning of the month of Sawan. Like every year, a large number of devotees are also expected to attend the Kanwar Yatra this year. Because of this, Gurugram DC Nishant Kumar Yadav held a meeting with the concerned officials on Wednesday regarding preparations and maintenance of law and order during the Yatra, the security of Kavadis, and ensuring road safety for their safe movement.

The DC directed the police department and NHAI officials to make a dedicated lane for Kanwariyas on the service road from Sarhaul border to Kherki toll and Rajeev Chowk to Sohna road in Gurgaon by placing cones and ropes on the service road. He said that since the Kavad Yatra runs for 24 hours, reflector tape must be installed on the dedicated lane for the safety of the Kavandis at night. He directed the health department officials to arrange ambulances at Shankar Chowk, Rajeev Chowk, and Kherki Toll to deal with any emergency during the Kawand Yatra.

Manesar Municipal Commissioner Sahil Gupta, DCP Traffic Virendra Vij, Gurgaon SDM Ravindra Yadav, CTM Darshan Yadav, CMO Virendra Yadav, and other officers of NHAI and the Police Department were present in the meeting.
