Uttar Pradesh: A 10-year-old girl hangs herself to death in Kanpur, UP after her sister threatened to complain to their parents that she brought ice cream in exchange for wheat.
The girl was identified as a Khushbu student in class five and the daughter of a labourer. Balkaran, her father, resides in Bhawanipur hamlet in the Bidhnu police circle with his wife Sumeri. In addition to two sons, the couple had three girls, Khushbu, 10, Kajal, 8, and one more.
Incident in Detail
While Khushbu and Kajal were at home, the couple had brought three of their children to work with them. Balkaran stated that in the evening, Kajal went goat grazing in the surrounding fields, and when she returned home, she discovered Khushbu had committed suicide by hanging herself.

Balkaran said, “We rushed to the spot and informed the police. Police arrived and brought down the body and sent it for post-mortem.”
He added, “Khushbu wanted to have ice cream and because she had no money, the vendor told her to bring him some grains in exchange. She brought wheat in a plastic bag and exchanged it with ice cream.”
Satish Chandra Rathore, police station in-charge said that two sisters fought over ice cream, and the younger threatened to tell their parents about it. Khushbu committed suicide because she was afraid of being chastised.
