Noida: Next Year, either at the end of February or in the first week of March, the trial of Jewar International Airport, which is being constructed near Noida and Greater Noida, is likely to start. According to the media, the decision was taken during the meeting held last week.
The airport is intended to provide connectivity between Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana to ease the pressure on Delhi’s International Airport (IGI).
The ambitious project is being brought to life by nearly six thousand construction workers. The authorities are developing multiple mega infrastructure projects around the airport, aiming to transform the region into an economic powerhouse. These projects include linking the airport to major highways through dedicated link roads, connecting it to Delhi railway station and the airport via metro trains.
Approximately 55 per cent of the airport’s construction work has already been completed. The ATC tower and runway are expected to be ready by December 2023, followed by a trial period lasting around 6-8 months. The deadline to make the airport operational is set for October 24. Currently, construction is progressing for the first phase of the airport.
