Tragedy On Route To Khatu Shyam: 5 Family Members, Including Infant, Killed In Jaipur Crash

In a tragic incident on the Manoharpur-Dausa National Highway in Jaipur, Rajasthan, a family of five was killed in a devastating car accident.

Five people, including two women and a 12-month-old kid, died after a speeding car allegedly collided with a trailer on the Manoharpur-Dausa National Highway near Jaipur on Sunday, police said. The family was travelling in a Uttar Pradesh-registered vehicle to Khatu Shyam Temple. The accident also triggered a massive congestion on the highway.

After the crash, a huge traffic jam formed along the highway, making the situation worse. Reports indicate that both the vehicle’s wreckage and emergency services were at the scene as the situation began to be dealt with. The car collided such that it was ripped apart from the trailer.

Bus Plunges Into Gorge In Pauri District

In a separate incident, at least four individuals died and 18 sustained injuries after a bus lost control and cascaded into a gorge over 100 metres deep near the Dahalchori region in Uttarakhand’s Pauri district.

Rescue Efforts Launched By SDRF And Local Authorities

A spokesperson for the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) noted they received information regarding the incident from the District Control Room in Pauri. The bus was carrying around 22 passengers when it fell from the road edge into a gorge near Dahalchori.

Swift Response From Rescue Teams

In accordance with the instructions of the SDRF Commander Arpan Yaduvanshi, rescue teams from Srinagar and Satpuli posts were immediately sent to the rescue. Yaduvanshi stated that the bus was on its way from Pauri to Dahalchori at the time and had a total of 22 people onboard.

Casualties

“Pauri police and local people carried out a rescue operation on the spot, and a total of 18 injured were taken out and sent to the hospital, while 4 people died on the spot in the incident, whose bodies were also taken to the hospital for necessary action,” he said. The SDRF team reached the spot and is conducting a thorough search.
