Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday simultaneously deposited social security pension of more than Rs 1007 crore in the accounts of 50 lakh beneficiaries. He initiated the pension scheme from CM’s residence.
On the occasion, Chief Minister interacted with the beneficiaries across the state through video conferencing. Taunting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led governments, he said that what the double-engine governments were not able to do, his government is showing by completing their single-engine government.
CM Gehlot also said that his government is not doing a favor to the public by giving the benefits of the schemes, but it is the moral responsibility of the people in power to do justice to all.
So far, more than 50 lakh beneficiaries of the Social Security Pension Scheme have registered in the dearness relief camps that started on April 24.
In the program, CM Gehlot not only announced making a law in the monsoon session of the assembly for minimum pension but also announced to increase the amount by 15 percent every year.
93.50 lakh people are getting pension
Under social security, a pension of Rs 500 to 750 was given to old people, single women, specially-abled people, and small and marginal farmers. Which has now been increased to Rs 1000 per month. Presently 93.50 lakh people are getting its benefits.
