New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that the national capital will witness more rain in the coming week. The flood water has finally started decreasing as the Yamuna water level is going down after three continuous flood days. On Saturday evening, Delhi and NCR cities witnessed heavy rainfall and more to come on Sunday, IMD report. The IMD weather forecast predicts light to moderate rainfall in sections of Delhi and NCR cities such as Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad, raising the risk of waterlogging and flooding in the national capital once more. IMD scientist Kuldeep Srivastava said, “As the monsoon trough has come closer to Delhi, Delhi saw light to moderate rain on Saturday. This trough will move towards the foothills now, bringing heavy rain there.” Sunday is anticipated to be cloudy and rainy in Delhi NCR, with thunderstorms and lightning possible. The good news is that, despite a brief period of heavy rain, the Yamuna water level did not rise on Saturday, July 15. However, the maximum temperature in Delhi is predicted to fall, providing some comfort to the capital amid the humid monsoons.
