A Hyderabad-Tirupati Spicejet flight, which departed from Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport made an emergency landing on Thursday. After reporting a technical snag mid-air, the flight SG 2696 was forced to return shortly after departure. The flight landed at RGI Airport and all passengers have been deplaned safely, confirmed PRO, GMR. SpiceJet has released a statement on the incident, stating reason for the emergency landing.
It stated that a SpiceJet Q400 aircraft operating the Hyderabad–Tirupati flight experienced an intermittent illumination of the AFT baggage door light after take-off.
“Cabin pressurisation remained normal throughout. As a precautionary measure, the pilots decided to return to Hyderabad. The aircraft landed safely and passengers were deplaned normally. The aircraft did not make an emergency landing. An alternate aircraft has been arranged to operate the onward journey to Tirupati.” the statement added.

IndiGo Flight Returns To Delhi Due To Mid-Air Technical Snag
In another incident, a Leh-bound IndiGo flight made an emergency landing on Thursday at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi. The flight carrying 180 passengers was en route to Leh from Delhi. After reporting a technical snag mid-air, the flight 6E2006 returned shortly after departure. All passengers have been deplaned safely. Further investigation is underway to determine the nature of the technical issue.
Meanwhile, IndiGo has reassured customers that the aircraft is undergoing thorough maintenance checks, and a replacement aircraft has already been deployed to ensure minimal disruption to travel plans, this alternative aircraft has been arranged to fly the customers to Leh.
