A 29-year-old man, who studied in the US, killed his industrialist grandfather in Hyderabad by stabbing him over 70 times during a property dispute.
The tragic incident unfolded in Hyderabad when 86-year-old industrialist Velamati Chandrasekhara Janardhana Rao was brutally stabbed to death by his grandson, Kilaru Keerthi Teja, allegedly over a property dispute. The shocking crime took place at Rao’s residence, leaving the business community and the public in disbelief.

Teja, 29, had recently returned to Hyderabad after completing his master’s degree in the United States. On the fateful day, he visited his grandfather’s house along with his mother, Sarojini Devi. A heated argument escalated between Teja and Rao regarding the distribution of family assets. Teja, who had reportedly received ₹4 crore as his share, was unhappy with the division and confronted his grandfather, accusing him of unfair distribution.
The argument quickly turned violent and situation got worse when Teja stabbed his grandfather 70 times. When Teja’s mother, Sarojini Devi, tried to stop him, she got injured. She was taken to the hospital and is now getting treatment.
Teja had recently returned to Hyderabad after finishing his master’s degree in the US. He was visiting his grandfather’s house with his mother when the argument took a huge turn and the attack happened.
Teja has been arrested, and the police is investigating the matter further.
Janardhana Rao was a respected industrialist and philanthropist, known for his contributions to shipbuilding, energy, and various industrial sectors. His sudden and tragic death has left his family, business associates, and the public in shock.
