A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Hyderabad where police rescued visually impaired elderly couple from their home on Tuesday. The couple was found living with the body of their dead son for four days. The couple wasn’t aware of passing away of their son, who according to reports had died four days back. The situation came into notice when neighbours detected foul smell coming from the house on Monday. They informed the police immediately and upon their arrival, the officials discovered couple in semi-conscious state along with the dead body of their son. The couple is said to be in their 60s and their son was 30-year-old. The incident was reported from Blinds Colony in Nagole.
What Did The Police Say?
HT quoted Nagole police station SHO, A Surya Nayak who said that based on a preliminary investigation, the man is suspected to have died in his sleep about four-five days ago. The elderly couple was completely unaware of the death at their home. They even attempted to contact their son for food and water without any response. He added that neighbours failed to hear couple’s call due to their weakened voices.
Police gathered information about their elder son who resides in another part of the city and notified him about the incident. They also provided the couple with food and water. The deceased has been identified as Pramod and he used to live separately from his wife for approximately a year. Cops revealed that he struggled with alcoholism and might have died in sleep.
Police informed that they have transported the man’s body to a state-run hospital for post-mortem and a case has been registered.
Authorities further added that they are to considering to relocate the couple to an-age home to provide them treatment and care. Further investigation into the case continues.
