Tehri, Uttarakhand: In a shocking case from Tehri, a 32-year-old married woman from the district of Jakhanidhar was tortured and abused by her in-laws in Jeevangarh, Dehradun. It is claimed that a married woman named Preeti was severely burned with a hot pan by her mother-in-law Subhadra and sister-in-law Jaya.

Saraswati, Preeti’s mother, was not allowed to meet her daughter when she arrived at her in-laws’ house in Jeevangarh to care for her. When she forcibly entered the house, she discovered her daughter in critical condition. She then returned home to Rindol village in Jakhani Dhar Tehri Garhwal with her daughter.

After receiving information about the incident, Pradhan and other villagers contacted the police on Monday. Preeti, the victim, and the villagers went to the SP office on Tuesday morning and filed a complaint against the in-laws.

Saraswati, Preeti’s mother, stated that her daughter was severely burned. When the daughter’s three children objected, they were also killed. He was informed that his son-in-law Anoop’s mental health is in poor shape. As a result of this, the mother-in-law and sister-in-law used to murder their daughter.

According to SP Tehri Navneet Singh Bhullar, a case has been registered against the accused mother-in-law and sister-in-law in New Tehri Kotwali, and they have been arrested. After receiving medical attention, the woman is being referred to Dehradun Burn Unit Coronation.
