Heavy vehicles on Greater Noida Expressway: In an attempt to deal with increasing traffic, the Noida-Greater Noida expressway has banned the entry of heavy vehicles from 7 am to 10 pm. Anil Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police(DCP) issued a traffic advisory which stated that heavy vehicles are not allowed to ply on expressway during the day from Friday.

However, it is also noted that vehicles carrying essential commodities such as milk, vegetables, medicines and etc. are allowed to enter the expressway. Traffic police personnel are deployed on the various to check the implementation of order and to curb violation of rules.

Deputy commissioner of police further added that construction works of many underpasses, road repair and etc. are underway which added to the traffic problems. in view of regular traffic congestions, the administration has taken this step to curb the traffic congestions.

Presently, heavy vehicles will be allowed to ply on expressway from 11 am to 5pm.

As per the new guidelines, heavy vehicles will ply on expressway but the vehicles have to take service lanes. besides this, 15-day time will be given to the concerned authorities to implement the new guidelines.
