New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sanjeev Mishra consumed poision along with his two minor sons and wife Neelam Mishra to die by suicide. The leader took the extreme step after his kids were diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).
Sanjeev Mishra was a resident of Vidisha district of Madhya Pradesh. He and his wife were stressed over the prolonged disease of Anmol (13) and Sarthak (7).
In a suicide note recovered from Mishra’s home near the dead bodies, the victim mentioned that they chose suicide due to the incurable disease of their kids.
A few days earlier, Mishra took to his Facebook account to share a post saying, “May God not give this disease, muscular dystrophy DMD, even to enemies’ kids.”

As per media reports, Mishra’s nephew said that the victim along with his family did not leave their house since morning on Thursday which raised suspicion. After which, the relatives and friends of Mishra informed the police immediately.
Upon reaching Mishra’s home, police broke door to enter the house to find Mishra, his wife and two sons falling on the ground. It is alleged that kids died by the time the door was opened while, Mishra and his wife was still breathing who were later died in the hospital.

As stated in multiple media reports, the police found a bottle of poison and a suicide note, mentioning the reason behind taking the extreme step.
The relatives of the family revealed that the elder son Anmol was suffering from DMD for 8 years. Even after consulting with hospitals such as AIIMS, nothing positive ame out. Meanwhile, the younger son also started to show same symptoms which were later detected as DMD.
