Gurugram: The police on Monday informed about apprehending a 29-year-old man allegedly for raping a 53-year-old Taiwan woman repeatedly false promising her to get married.
As per a report of the news agency PTI, the victim works for an NGO and has been living in the city since 2017. Ravindra Vishwakarma, the accused, is a physician at a private clinic. According to the police, the two met about six months ago.
The woman complained that she was staying at a paying guest facility in Sector 52, and Vishwakarma was nearby.
In her complaint, the victim said the two met in February. She said that the accused proposed her for marriage she accepted.
The woman stated that she was been sexually used by the man on the pretext of marriage. However, the man, later, refused to get married and blocked her number.
Assistant sub-inspector Chandrakanth said the accused has been charged under Sections 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code at Sector 53 police station.
“The accused has been arrested and he has admitted to the allegations against him. He will be produced in a city court,” the official said.
