Greater Noida: A heartbreaking incident was reported from Greater Noida where an elderly couple was compelled to spend nights on the staircase after tenant refused to vacate the flat. The agreement of the tenant was expired a month ago, despite which, the tenant did not leave.

Sunil Kumar and Rakhi Gupta, the couple returned to Greater Noida from Mumbai on July 19 for finally spending the retirement life here, reported TOI. However, their tenant who herself is a property dealer insulted the couple and denied to vacate the place.

The tenant is a woman who lives with her son after splitting up with her husband. In July last year, the couple couple rented their flat to the 35-year-old woman on a condition that she has to vacate the place in the eleventh month which she agreed to.

However, when the couple tried to reach out to her reminding her about the termination of agreement, she stopped to respond to their calls eventually.

When the couple reached at the apartment, the ladies accompanied by another woman humiliated the former and asked them to leave.

The couple informed that they approached the police but no help was availed. They also met the district magistrate who assured them of forwarding their letter to the police commissioner.

Meanwhile, the tenant complained against few society residents for spreading rumors about her. She said she will not leave the apartment until the residents apologises to her through a video.
