Noida: On the Aqua metro line between Noida-Greater Noida, the parking facility has started at only four stations instead of five from Monday. The parking facility could not be started at Sector-142 station. The reason for this is the underpass being built under the expressway near the Advant building. Access to the parking comes from the service road. Officers say they will find a solution soon.
NMRC officials had claimed last week that parking facility will start from Monday at Sector-76, NSEZ, Sector-142, Pari Chowk and Alpha One stations of the Aqua Line metro route and parking facility is already being provided at Sector-51, Sector-137 and Sector Delta One stations. But on Monday, the parking facility started except for Sector-142. Even the advance underpass work is going on for the last three years and because of this, the service road is closed for many months. If one wants to go to the parking lot of Sector-142 metro station then they have to take the service road.
NMRC officials reported that they began parking at this station without first inspecting the situation. Officers are now discussing a different route. According to officials, each station includes parking for 200 to 300 vehicles. Previously, people arriving at the respective stations had to take auto-rickshaws to the metro station. More money was spent in this case. NMRC will now operate the parking lot with its own employees and will launch a tender when the number of vehicles in the lot increases. Currently, the parking facility is only available at eight stations, but it will be expanded to include more stations in the future, taking into account passenger demand and needs.
