Greater Noida: A shocking case of medical negligence has come to light from Greater Noida, where a seven-year-old boy, who went for surgery on left eye, got his right eye operated by the doctor. The incident took place on Tuesday at the Anand Spectrum Hospital in Sector Gamma 1.
Reportedly, the boy’s father had taken him to the hospital after he reported problem in Left eye. His left eye was watering. After examination, Doctor Anand Verma told that the boy’s eye needs to be operated as there was a plastic-like object in his eye, NDTV reported. Officials said that the cost of operation was Rs 45000.
Greater Noida Medical Horror: Parents Demand Action
The operation was conducted on Tuesday. However, upon reaching home, mother of the boy noticed that the operation was done on wrong eye. Following the discovery, the parents confronted the doctor. But, the doctor and his staff misbehaved with them, police stated.
The family created ruckus at the hospital and filed complaint with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Gautam Buddh Nagar.
In his complaint, boy’s father has demanded the cancellation of doctor’s license and also asked to seal the hospital.
The police further informed that investigation has begun and proper action will be taken.
