Greater Noida: The animal rescue and rehabilitation centre will be built on 10 hectares of land near Jewar Airport. Rs 5.40 crore will be spent on its construction. The Forest Department will prepare this centre in six months. After its construction, the protection of blackbuck and stork will be possible in the area.

Before the construction of Jewar Airport started, a study was conducted by the Wildlife Institute, Dehradun. A report was also sought on how the wildlife coming into the 10-kilometre area of the airport would be protected. The Wildlife Institute, Dehradun, had also told its plan and given many suggestions.

Five hectares of land are already available with the Forest Department. The Yamuna Authority will give five hectares of land. This land is adjacent to Dhanori Wetland. Dhanori wetland will also be improved. Rs. 4.5 crore will be spent on the construction of the centre. While Rs 90 lakh will be spent on improving the Dhanori wetland, Noida International Airport Limited Company will bear the expenses incurred in this.
