Retirement Age

Retirement Age increased: Employees working in the Homeopathy department in Uttar Pradesh have been demanding an equal retirement age for a long time. Now, Allahabad High Court’s Lucknow division has given all of them a reason to take a good long breath. The HC directed the government to increase the employees’ retirement age to 62 years from 60 years.

The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court has stated that employees working in the state’s Allopathic department retire at the age of 62 while employees working in the state’s homoeopathic department retire at the age of 60. This is an absolute breach of the ‘Right to equality’.

Dr SK Yadav filled petition

A constitution bench of Justice Vivek Chowdhary delivered an order on a plea filed by homoeopathic physician SK Yadav, who had moved the court against his retirement on December 31, 2021. He retired at the age of 60 years.
