Bhopal: Four persons died and three others injured after their jeep rammed into a pole in Madhya Pradesh’s Shajapur district in the early hours of Saturday, police said on Saturday.
The incident took place on Bolai-Akodia road near Palsavad Jod around 3 am, an official said, reports news agency PTI.
Akodia police station in-charge Narendra Kushwaha said the speeding jeep rammed into a pole killing four of its occupants on the spot and injuring three others.
The injured are being treated at a government hospital in Shujalpur.
The deceased have been identified as Pavan Hada (30), Babloo Kanjar (30), Gajendra Singh Thakur (38) and Daulat Singh Mewada (50), the official said, adding that a probe into the incident is underway.
Around 14 dead in accident in Rewa
At least 14 passengers died and 40 others were injured in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa after a bus in which they were traveling collided with a trolley truck near Suhagi Pahari.
When the tragedy occurred, the bus was travelling from Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, to Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan discussed the incident over the phone with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the morning.
