Noida: Flood-like conditions have also been created in Noida due to continuous rainwater flowing down the rivers in the hilly areas and the rise in the water level of the Yamuna. Noida Sectors 124, 125, and 135 have been flooded with more than ten feet of water. Hundreds of people are trapped due to waterlogging in these sectors. The Noida Police have been busy evacuating the trapped people and cattle for the last 3 days.
On Friday morning, all three DCPs of the district visited the water-affected and flood-prone areas. The situation is being reviewed. So far, 2 thousand cattle and about 700 women, men, and children have been rescued from the flood-affected areas.
According to the information received from the Police Commissionerate, a flood situation has arisen due to the increase in the water level in the Yamuna River. Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh is personally monitoring the flood-affected area. The DCPs and ADCPs of all three zones have been ordered to help the victims by continuously travelling in the water-affected areas. On Thursday, DCP Noida Harish Chander, ADCP Noida, and ACP-1 Noida visited Sector-126, Sector-127, Village Nangla Wajidpur, and Village Asgarpur. DCP, Greater Noida Saad Miyan Khan has inspected the water-affected villages of Makanpur Khadar, Makanpur Bangar, Latifpur, Atta Gujran, Atta Fatehpur, and Navrangpur villages. People who are living in huts, houses, tube wells, etc. in Yamuna’s Khadar around the village have been evacuated. Due to the rising water level of the Yamuna, those people and their animals have been safely removed. Police duty has been imposed on the dam built near the village. Police have appealed to the villagers through the public announcement system and Mike’s mobile vehicle not to go towards the water-affected area to avoid any untoward incident. Those who are living in low-lying areas should reach a safe place.
Traffic diversion has been done on the route from the Noida-DND toll border towards Delhi-Ashram due to the increase in water level in the Yamuna. It has been said by the traffic police that motorists can reach their destination using the alternate route Kalindi Kunj, Noida-Chilla border.
