Ahmedabad: Following her wish, a girl from Gujarat’s Ahmedabad married her a Dalit lover after which, the entire family of the bride tried to die by suicide. As everyone was hospitalised, her father and brother died in the incident. However, the condition of those in the hospital is still critical.

The incident is being told of Tuesday night. According to information, the girl from Dholka city had married her boyfriend about a year ago. The girl’s lover was from the Dalit caste. After knowing about this, the family members of the boy got very angry.

The whole family consumed poison on the night of 5 September

It is being said that after the marriage of the daughter, the in-laws of the family who tried to commit mass suicide used to have arguments. 

Distressed by this, the girl’s father and other family members consumed poison on the night of 5 September. It was a matter of honor that a neighbor reached the house of the family suffering from some work and informed the police after seeing the members of the house unconscious.

Police admitted the girl’s family members to the hospital, where her father Kiran Rathod, 52, and brother Harshil, 19, died. Currently, the girl’s mother Nitaben, 50, and brother Harsh, 24, are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

According to the police, a case has been registered against the daughter of the deceased Kiran Rathod and her in-laws on charges of abetment to suicide. At present, the statements of the treated members of the victim’s family are awaited, after which further action will be taken.
