This is not the first case of an EV catching fire. Earlier, electric two-wheelers and four-wheelers of various brands have been set on fire. This was the reason that taking it seriously, the government had also set up an inquiry committee.

ANI has reported that an electric two-wheeler suddenly exploded in Palghar, Maharashtra, due to which a 7-year-old child died. It is reported that the EV caught fire during charging. The child was taken for treatment after being seriously injured in the blast, during which he died.

70 per cent body burnt

A case has been registered at Manikpur police station and police say that investigation has started. The name of the child who died in the fire is being told as Shabbir Ansari, whose body was burnt to more than 70 percent.

Explosion took place while the battery was on charge

It is reported that the boy and his grandmother were sleeping in the hall when the blast took place. The scooter owner (the child’s father) had plugged the EV’s battery into the socket for charging. As the battery pack exploded, Ansari and his grandmother woke up. The incident of fire in the battery is said to have happened on September 23 at around 4:30 am. Dadi suffered minor injuries, but Ansari suffered over 70 per cent burns.

The battery pack was removable, which could be taken out of the scooter and charged. It was reportedly a 24Ah Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery pack.
