A thick layer of dense fog engulfed the national capital as the visibility at several places turned zero, according to the Indian Metrological Department (IMD). However, the visibility at Delhi Airport also reported zero following which several flights were diverted, delayed.

Delhi’s Visibility
According to the weather department, capital visibility on January 12 at 5:30 am at Palam (Delhi)-0 and Safdarjung (Delhi)-500.

“Safdarjung station, which is considered as Delhi’s base station recorded the minimum temperature of 5.4 degree Celsius which is lower than the 3.4 degree Celsius than the normal temperature at 5:30 am on January 12,” IMD said.

Informing about the visibility at 7:30 am, IMD stated that Delhi’s Safdarjung airport reported 200 visibility in dense fog conditions. No significant change is expected during next 2 hours.

“Delhi (Palam) Airport is reported 0 visibility in very dense fog conditions, no significant change is expected till 9:30 am,” IMD said.
