New Delhi: Delhi Traffic Police issued a traffic alert in parts of Delhi and Gurugram due to multiple reasons, which include waterlogging, road cave-ins, and dangerous water levels. Heavy rains over the weekend in the NCR caused serious waterlogging on many stretches, some of which are still not clear. After considerable rain on Monday, waterlogging was reported in 13 areas in Delhi. While the Pragati Maidan Tunnel remains closed due to the Yamuna exceeding danger levels and causing a flood alert in Delhi, the iron bridge at Pusta Road Gandhi Nagar will also remain blocked on Tuesday. Delhi-NCR traffic guidelines 1. Heavy traffic is expected due to Gurupurab celebrations at Bangla Sahib Gurudwara and Rakabganj Gurudwara. Motorists should avoid R/A Gol Dak Khana, Ashoka Road, Jai Singh Road, Pandit Pant Marg, and R/A RML. 2. Due to a road cave-in near the Shershah road cut, traffic movement is also hampered at the C- Hexagon India gate. 3. Due to waterlogging, traffic will be prohibited at the Pragati Maidan tunnel for the third day. Commuters should arrange their route properly. 4. Due to a dangerous level of water in the Yamuna River, the Iron Bridge Pusta Road in Gandhi Nagar is closed to the public and traffic till further notice. 5. Due to a bus breakdown at the Samalkha bus stop, traffic is heavy on Old Delhi Gurugram road in the lane from Samalkha to Kapashera. The stretch has been avoided by commuters. 6. Vehicle movement was also hampered on NH-48 in the carriageway from Gurugram to Delhi due to an overturned truck near the Dwarka link road cut. The bus is no longer there.
