New Delhi: A group of robbers left a Rs 500 note at the doorstep of a software engineer’s home as an unusual gesture after failing to find anything valuable to steal in Rohini, Delhi.
The incident was reported to the police, and an 80-year-old complainant met with officers from North Rohini Police Station to address the matter.
The victim and his wife had traveled to Gurgaon on July 19 to visit their son, and upon returning, they were informed by a neighbor that their home had been broken into.

When the victim arrived home, he noticed that the main gate’s lock was broken, but surprisingly, nothing of significant value was stolen since the couple did not keep expensive items at their residence.
There was no damage to the cabinets or almirahs either. However, what puzzled the victim and the authorities was the Rs. 500 note left behind by the robbers as they made their escape.
This unusual act left everyone wondering about the motives of the thieves.
Interestingly, this incident is not the first of its kind in Delhi. About a month ago, in the Farsh Bazaar region of Shahdara, a similar incident took place.
In this case, two thieves attempted to rob a couple at gunpoint, but after realizing they had no valuable possessions, they gave the couple a Rs 100 note before fleeing the scene on their two-wheeler.
The couple later admitted to the police that they were given the Rs 100 note by the compassionate thieves.
Such occurrences have left the public perplexed and questioning the intentions behind these peculiar acts during attempted robberies.
