New Delhi: The Delhi Police has decided to deploy more than 100 personnel in plain clothes to prevent incidents of objectionable activities on the Delhi Metro daily. For this, deployment will be done based on pre-identified stations.

According to media reports, an official aware of the development said that the personnel on duty will assist the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) staff and CISF officials to crack down on the culprits on the spot and prosecute them later.

The decision has been taken in view of the increasing incidents of public obscenity inside metro coaches. The Delhi Police, comprising constables and head constables, have been instructed to travel in plain clothes in coaches accompanied by at least two Delhi Metro officers and two CISF personnel.

The concerned official said, “Personnel will be deployed at most of the major stations, and they have been asked to enter the coaches at random and travel up to some stations to check for any such nuisance. Women constables will be deployed.”

A Shift Towards BJP's Aggressive Hindutva Amid Opposition's Leadership Crisis
