“Manipur is burning & horrific videos have come to light. The govt should hold discussion on it. Why is it running away? There is a double engine govt still all this violence in the state,” ANI quoted AAP MP Raghav Chadha as saying.

However, Speaking on the Delhi Ordinace issue, MP Chadha said that it is against the democracy and asked Centre to withdraw it immediately.

He also stated that they have raised this issue in the housed and he is hopeful that the chairman of the Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, who is also the Vice President of India, will take the necessary action.

“In the Rajya Sabha today, we raised the issue of Delhi ordinance. We demanded that it be withdrawn and there is no significance to it. It is against democracy and the govt should withdraw it. We are hopeful that the Chairman will listen to our demand…” ANI quoted AAP MP Raghav Chadha as saying.

Apart from this, Chadha appealed to suspend all listed business and convene a special session to discuss the state of Manipur reflects the collective demand of the opposition MPs, who are deeply concerned about the escalating crisis.

Multiple ‘suspension of business’ notices from various parties further emphasise the gravity of the situation.

AAP MP also cornered PM Modi on the matter and said that in 2017, he himself tweeted that those who cannot ensure peace in the state have no right to govern Manipur.

“What is happening today is horrendous, horrific, catastrophic, and of much greater magnitude than 2017,” he said.

Demanding accountability, Chadha said that the BJP has a responsibility to hold discussions on the matter and inform the House of the ongoing developments in the region.

“The situation demands accountability and transparency from the double-engine government,” AAP MP said.

Chadha also demanded the removal of N. Biren Singh-led BJP government in Manipur and the imposition of President’s Rule, sending a powerful message that the people of Manipur deserve a government that can effectively address their grievances and ensure their safety and well-being.

AAP MP further added that it was time for the union government to act responsibly, prioritise the welfare of the people, and bring an end to the ongoing crisis in Manipur.
