New Delhi: The proposal to permit more than 300 businesses, including restaurants and hotels, to operate around-the-clock beginning the following week has been accepted by Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, according to LG Office officials.
The action is anticipated to improve the nightlife in the city. The 314 establishments that have been given permission to operate around-the-clock include restaurants as well as online retailers, delivery services, and transportation hubs, according to the officials.

According to reports, some of the 314 businesses that have been given permission to operate around-the-clock requested a licence from the government as far back as 2016, and their applications have been on hold for the last six years.
The notification that would allow them to operate round-the-clock has been ordered by the L-G.

In approving the request, Saxena expressed a “very critical view” of the labour department’s “inordinate delay, adhocism, unpredictability, and unjustifiable discretion” in handling the petitions submitted by the firms for these exemptions.
To encourage an atmosphere that is welcoming to investors and businesses in Delhi, the LG has mandated that such petitions be rejected within a set time frame.
