Delhi: A shocking incident of murder shook the national capital yesterday. A teenager was stabbed to death in the Seelampur area on Thursday. The deceased was identified as 17-year-old Kunal. He was rushed to the hospital but he succumbed to his injuries. As the incident came to light, the victim’s family and local residents staged a protest. On Friday, Kunal’s mother stated that she had not been updated about her son’s death by the police. Kunal’s family has alleged that a local woman, known as Lady Don Zikra has a role in his murder. However, police have made no official statement on Zikra and stated that they are investigating the case to ascertain whose role is there.
Who Is ‘Lady Don’ Zikra?
Crack team of Seelampur Police station had taken Zikra into custody for questioning on Thursday but she wasn’t arrested. According to sources, some time ago people from Kunal’s community had attacked Zikra’s brother, in which a case under section 307 was registered.
This murder could be an act of revenge. Zikra was recently arrested under the Arms act after she posted a reel on Instagram, in which she was seen holding a pistol. She is currently out on bail and lives in rented house near Kunal’s residence. His family further alleged that Zikra was present at the spot and police are verifying it.
Zikra is said to be the bouncer of Hashimbaba gangster’s wife Zoya. She is reportedly a well-known figure in the local underworld. She is known for her connection with criminals of Shahdra. Zikra is often seen carrying firearms and is said to lead gangs of criminals as well. According to locals, she is often accompanied by a group of armed men and roams freely in the streets with a pistol. Moreover, she earned the title of ‘Gunwali’ for showing weapons on social media.
Zikra has reportedly been involved in multiple criminal incidents, including a prior jail term, An FIR was filed against her for allegedly displaying a country-made pistol during Holi celebrations this year. Reports state that she is romantically linked to gangster Hashim Baba. Despite previous arrests, Zikra is said to continue exerting considerable influence in her locality. Residents have accused her of threatening Hindu boys in the area. They have further demanded to curb her activities.
Rekha Gupta Assures Justice
Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday said that justice will be served. “I have spoken to the Police commissioner on the murder of a 17-year-old boy, Kunal. He was attacked by knives and was rushed to the Jai Prakash hospital, where he was pronounced Gupta told dead on arrival,” reporters.
Joint Commissioner of Police (CP) East, Pushpendra Kumar added that the accused are from the same area and police were on the lookout for two people who remain suspects in the murder case.
Few people from the same area are accused in the case. The accused have been identified, and our teams are working to nab them soon,” Joint CP Kumar stated.
