Medha Roopam’s appointment as the DM of Hapur, Kasganj, and thereafter as Additional Chief Executive Officer (ACEO) of Greater Noida Authority set the stage to begin a new phase as the first woman DM of Noida. Her challenging roles include effectively managing various administrative roles in various districts of UP – Meerut, Unnao, Lucknow, and Barabanki. She secured All India Rank 10 in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam in 2014.

IAS Medha Roopam: Education, Family, Journey

IAS Medha Roopam completed her schooling from Naval Public School in Kerala and later moved to St. Thomas School in Thiruvananthapuram to pursue higher studies. She is an Economics graduate from Delhi’s St. Stephen’s College. Her contributions extend beyond her civic roles, as she has upheld the position of a national-level shooter by winning three gold medals in the Kerala State Shooting Championship and competing in the National Championship in 2009.

On July 30, 2025, a ground-breaking announcement hit the headlines – Medha Roopam becomes NOIDA’s first woman District Magistrate. Born in 1990, Agra, Medha, is the daughter of Gyanesh Kumar, a 1988-batch IAS officer who later became India’s Chief Election Commissioner. Her husband, Manish Bansal, is also an IAS officer serving in Saharanpur from the batch of 2014.
