Delhi Suicide Case: In a horrifying incident in the Vasant Kunj area of Delhi, five members of the same family, including a father and his four daughters committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance. The incident took place in Rangpuri village. According to reports, police have launched an investigation into the matter.

The tragedy came to light on Friday at 10:18 am after neighbours alerted the police regarding the shocking incident, the reports stated. Upon arrival, Police had to break down the door of the flat to retrieve the bodies. Authorities are currently probing the case and trying to determine the reason behind the drastic step.

DCP Rohit Meena said that Vasant Kunj South Police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and initiated a further inquiry into the case.

The man, identified as 50-year-old Hira Lal lived with his family in a rented house in Rangpuri village. His wife had died earlier. The family consisted of 4 daughters- Neetu (18), Nishi (15), Neeru (10), and Nidhi (8). All four daughters were unable to walk due to disabilities.

Hiralal worked as a carpenter at a Hospital in Vasant Kunj and was the sole earner for his family. According to reports, a foul odour started emanating from his flat, prompting his neighbour to call the police. When the Police arrived at the scene, locals informed that the family hadn’t been seen for the last few days.

Following the information, Police broke the door, entered Hiralal’s room, and found his body lying on the bed. In another room, the bodies of the four daughters were also lying on the bed. Further investigations are underway.
