There is good news for Noida metro commuters, as much-awaited air-conditioned skywalk connecting Delhi Metro’s Blue Line (Sector 52 station) with Noida’s Aqua Line (Sector 51 station) will open to the public on October 2, 2025. The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) made this announcement on Thursday. Once operational, it will benefit commuters by saving time and offering several facilities for seamless travel. Till now, passengers had to either use a temporary footpath or take an e-rickshaw after coming out of the station to go from one line to another, which was time consuming.

About the Skywalk, Noida metro commuters to benefit

The work to develop this project began in March 2023. The 420-metre-long, 5-metre-wide structure is equipped with moving walkways and lifts. It is fully air-conditioned and the travelator moves at a speed of 0.5 meters per second. This skywalk aims to seamlessly integrate both networks and eliminate the hassle of taking tickets during inter-line transfers. The total cost of building this skywalk is Rs 40 crores. By using this walkway, commuters will get an ease in travelling through Blue Line and Aqua Line.

Multiple deadlines in the past were missed as the design of the skywalk was changed after construction work began. This air-conditioned skywalk is built in place of 300 metre long walkway that was covered by a tin shed and subsequently demolished.

“The work on this project is almost complete, with only finishing touches remaining. We have directed the staff to complete the remaining work by September 30 so that we can open this project to the public on October 2, 2025,” said NMRC executive director Mahendra Prasad, executive director of the NMRC.
