Several injured as dozen vehicles collide on Greater Noida expressway due to dense fog

Greater Noida: The multi-vehicle collision took place near Chakrasainpur village, triggering a long traffic jam on the busy stretch.

Greater Noida: Several people were injured after nearly a dozen vehicles reportedly collided on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway in Greater Noida on Friday. According to police, the multi-vehicle collision was caused by dense fog, which drastically reduced visibility near the Dadri area.

The accident took place near Chakrasainpur village, triggering a long traffic jam on the busy stretch. Vehicles were left stranded for hours as drivers struggled to react in the low-visibility conditions. Several individuals, including a woman, were injured in the accident. They were given immediate medical assistance and are reported to be safe.

Traffic movement halted on the highway

Following the collision, traffic movement on the highway came to a standstill. Police, along with the toll plaza management, took prompt action and deployed cranes to remove the damaged vehicles. Efforts are underway to restore normal movement. In view of the foggy conditions, motorists are advised to adhere to speed limits, maintain safe distances, and drive cautiously.

In a separate incident that took place in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, three people were killed, and several others sustained injuries after a dumper truck rammed into an auto-rickshaw in Unnao.
