Rekha Gupta Family: First time MLA Rekha Gupta has been chosen as the next chief minister of Delhi. With this she has become the fourth woman chief minister of Delhi. Born in 1974 in Nandgarh village of Haryana’s Jind district, Rekha began her political journey with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).
She studied at Delhi University’s Daulat Ram College and became Delhi Students’ Union (DUSU) President in 1996-97. Rekha is known for advocating issues of student during her tenure as DUSU President. As a councillor from North Pitampura in 2007, she worked on developing basic facilities in the area, such as libraries and parks. She has also pursued an LLB and is the founder of the NGO AAS

Her grandfather, Maniram Jindal, was a trader. In Julana, he had a shop named Gangaram-Kashiram. Rekha’s father’s name is Jaibhagwan, who served as a manager at the State Bank of India. Her mother’s name is Urmila Jindal, who was a housewife. When Rekha was 2 years old, her father had transferred to Delhi, and the family moved there. Her father was employed with the State Bank Of India as an officer.
Her husband is businessman Manish Gupta. The couple had married in 1998 and has two children. Her son is pursuing engineering degree in Vellore and her daughter is completing her post-graduation in Australia.
Speaking to ANI, Her mother-in-law Meera Gupta said, “Blessings to her, may she grow like this and serve the people and society.” Her sister-in-law stated that the family is very happy with her win.
Her husband, Manish Gupta thanked the party leadership for giving the opportunity to Rekha. “I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah ji and the entire party leadership for expressing their faith in Rekha ji,” said Manish.
