New Delhi: A 23-year-old woman was repeatedly beaten to death with a brick on her head and face at her home in Ecotech-3, Greater Noida on Saturday night. Pinky Singh’s mother and sister, who were sleeping in another room on the same floor, found her dead in the morning.

His face was covered in blood and a piece of brick lay nearby. Police said she tried to push the attacker away as objects were scattered on the ground. After the death of his father, Pinky lived with his mother, sister and niece in a three-story building in Habibpur village.

Police said the family owned three buildings in the area and rented a total of 48 rooms. DCP (Noida Central) Suniti said they received information about the murder at around 8.30 am.

Before reporting to the police, Pinky’s family took her to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. They took her home and then called the police.

“A police team arrived at the house and found the woman dead in bed. She suffered serious injuries to her face and head,” said the woman.

“Her family members found her body in the morning. It appeared she had been beaten to death with a brick. A piece of brick with blood stains was found nearby, ” said the DCP.

A forensic team also examined the building. Police said traces of blood were found outside the room where Pinky’s mother and sister were sleeping. Police are questioning the woman’s family and tenants who live in the building but on other floors. Pinky, her mother and her sister live on the second floor.

“We suspect someone inside the building played a role in the murder. We are questioning his family and the tenants. The building has only one entrance. We have collected CCTV footage and will check for clues,” the DCP said.

Following a complaint by the family, an FIR was registered against unknown persons under section 302 (murder) of the IPC. Four teams have been formed to investigate the case.
