Noida: In a shocking incident, a 14-year-old boy reportedly died after slipping and falling off the 14th floor of a high-rise building in Greater Noida. The incident which took place on Friday afternoon appeared to be an accident, Police said.
The victim, a class 7 student, was a resident of Sector 1, Greater Noida West, which falls within Bisrakh police station limits, reports stated.
According to Bisrakh Station House Officer Manoj Kumar, the accident occurred around 3.30 pm, when the minor who was playing on the balcony accidentally lost his balance and fell off the 14th floor of the 18-storey building.
“His family members rushed to the ground floor after hearing the victim scream. They took him to a hospital, where the doctors declared him dead upon arrival,” SHO Kumar said.
After receiving information on the emergency helpline number (112), Bisrakh police team rushed to the accident spot. However, the authorities didn’t find anything suspicious there. A post-mortem examination is being conducted on the body, while further probe is ongoing. No case has been filed, reports added.
In a separate incident on November 11, a 3-year-old child became severely injured after falling from the balcony of a society in Sector 122, Noida. He was immediately rushed to the nearest Hospital after being provided first aid.
