Noida Traffic Alert: Noida Authority has recently announced traffic diversion for nearly a month at Barola crossing. According to reports, construction work is currently underway at the Bhangel Elevated Road. Contractors are planning to place a 50 meter long steel girder on the road. This girder will reportedly be placed starting from Bhangel and extending up to Barola on the elevated road. As a result, commuters coming from all four directions will be diverted. However, Noida Traffic Police has not yet released a diversion plan for the same.
Where Will Diversion Be Implemented?
To ensure smooth traffic flow, vehicles traveling from Hajipur underpass will be diverted towards Sector 49 from the internal roads of Sector 100. Additionally, the traffic coming from Sector 76 will be redirected through internal roads. The diversion will remain in effect until March 31, 2025.
Deputy General Manager (Civil) of Noida Authority, Vijay Rawal has recently shared details about the month-long traffic diversion. He said that a girder has already been put in the opposite direction from Barola to Bhangel.
How Much Construction Work Is Left?
The 5.5-km-long Bhangel elevated road is being constructed above the Dadri-Surajpur-Chhalera (DSC) road. Almost 90% of the work on the road has been completed so far. It is expected to be open to public during April, 2025. The Noida Authority aims to finish the remaining work by the end of March.
Building work on 6 to 7 girders is still pending. Besides this, the work of applying Tar on the road is also be done. Once the Noida Bhangel Elevated Road is open, residents of Delhi/NCR will see significant relief from heavy traffic on the Bhangel route.
