A class 10th student has gone missing from his residence in sector 78, Noida on Sunday. This happened after he was allegedly scolded by his parents. According to the family, the boy from the flat around 7:30 am. The boy told his parents at home that he was heading towards his tuition classes in Noida Sector 18, which is approximately 12 km away. However, he never arrived at the tuition center.
When he failed to return home by 2 pm, as he usually did, his father lodged a complaint. The family mentioned that the boy was carrying a mobile phone, which has been switched off since he left. In the complaint filed at the Sector 113 police station, the father stated that he had visited the Aakash Coaching Centre, where his son had been attending private classes, but was informed that the boy had not shown up that morning.
As quoted by Hindustan Times, the boy’s father mentioned, “On Sunday around 7.30 am, my son left for tuition but never reached. We searched for him and then approached the police.”
He further mentioned, “He left with his phone, charger, and around Rs 250. He’s been messaging his cousin on WhatsApp saying he won’t return home and is in Gujarat. His phone was switched off, and the police told us he used a railway station’s WiFi to send messages.”
As quoted by Hindustan Times, Station House Officer of Sector 113, Krishna Gopal Sharma mentioned, “A case under Section 137(2) (kidnapping) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered. Two teams are working to trace the minor.”
The boy’s father said that they scolded him when he failed to take his studies seriously before board examinations. The boy told his friends that he might leave his house. They thought he was joking. We didn’t believe he would carry out the act he had mentioned. He received the same parental chastising that parents hand out to regular children.
Police are tracing the teenager by analyzing his travel routes and digital traces alongside their communication with Gujarat railway authorities through WhatsApp locations.
