Noida: UP STF’s Gautam Budha Nagar unit on Monday arrested a criminal carrying a bounty of Rs 50,000, an active member of notorious gangster Atiq Ahmed gang, from Ajmer Sharif, Rajasthan.
Kuldeep Narayan, SSP of STF Gautam Budh Nagar Unit informed that on the basis of the information the STF team has arrested Javed alias Pappu Ganjia from Ajmer. A reward of Rs 50,000 was announced by the Prayagraj police on his arrest. The miscreant was hiding in the Baghe-e-Rahmat Hotel Fulgli police station area of Ajmer Sharif.
Accused in 40 cases
According to police, more than 40 cases have been registered against him under various sections including murder, attempt to murder, gangster, goonda act and extortion. He has been committing crimes since 1989.
Mahku Pashi, Chhamman, Tajuddin alias Taju and Manzoor Ahmed are some of his gang member. Earlier, two of its accomplices Tajuddin and Mehku Pashi were killed in a police encounter.
The police told that the miscreant used to collect a huge amount by interfering in the disputed property. In 2022, Javed demanded extortion by threatening Vishal Yadav, a resident of Allahabad.
