Noida: Residents of Galaxy Royal Society in Noida Extension are facing a severe water crisis, with no water supply for the past two days. The frustrated residents took to the streets in protest against the builder and authorities, causing a major traffic jam.
Prolonged water crisis raises concerns
The housing society, consisting of 517 flats and housing nearly three thousand residents, has been grappling with insufficient water supply for days. The water connection provided by the Greater Noida Authority measures only 2 inches, resulting in extremely low water pressure, leaving the residents parched.
Builder, authorities under scrutiny
Galaxy Royal Society residents have repeatedly complained to the Noida Authority and the builder about the dire water situation, but their grievances remained unresolved. The previous borewells, ordered shut by the Noida Groundwater Table Authority (NGTA), further worsened the situation.
Promises made but no solution in sight
In response to the mounting protests, the police summoned the builder’s representative, Ajay Bisht, who assured the residents that the problem would be resolved within a week. He promised to supply water through tankers until the issue is fully resolved and to upgrade the pipeline to address the water pressure problem.
Patience wearing thin
Despite assurances, residents are losing patience as their daily lives are severely disrupted due to the scarcity of water. The lack of maintenance and proper amenities in the society has added to their frustration.
Resident’s remain skeptical on builder’s response
As the residents hold onto hope for a speedy resolution, they remain skeptical about the timeline given by the builder’s representative. The situation demands urgent attention and action from the authorities to ensure that the water crisis is brought to an end.
