Noida International Airport, located in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, is set to begin its operation by April 2025. It is expected to revolutionize travel and cater to both domestic and international travelers. Once operational, the Jewar Airport will reportedly offer 5 international routes and 25 domestic routes. Besides becoming a key hub for North India, the new airport will reportedly provide direct flights to high-demand international destinations like Dubai, Zurich, and Singapore. The airport will also cover domestic destinations such as Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Dehradun, Lucknow and more.
Future Plans
According to reports, the airport authorities are planning to offer flights to Brussels and Munich as well by the end of this year. However, new destination approvals will depend on the bilateral agreements accompanied by the demand for flights. The upcoming Noida International Airport is steadily moving towards completion with construction work progressing at a rapid pace.
Construction Work Update
At least 80% of the terminal building construction work has been finished, including key elements like escalators, flooring, and the baggage handling system, the Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) informed. At least ten aero bridges are set to be installed once the work is done, as per reports. The first phase is nearly 90% complete) and Rs 9,024 crore of the sanctioned Rs 10,056 crore is already spent.
The New Airport will offer seamless travel to about 12 million passengers per year. The extensive future connectivity plans include the building of a Multi-Modal Cargo Hub on 80 acres of land and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) centers on 40 acres, reports added.
