In a deeply disturbing and heart-wrenching incident from Noida’s Sector 137, CCTV footage has captured a scene of horror inside a daycare. The 10-minute-and-30-second clip is enough to give any parent sleepless nights and make them think a hundred times before sending their child to such a facility. The footage shows a 15-month-old baby girl being beaten, tortured, and mercilessly dropped on the ground by a 16-year-old daycare attendant.
What began as an ordinary day for a Noida family soon took a horrifying turn when the parents of the child noticed unusual bruises on their baby’s thighs. Initially, the marks seemed like some allergic reaction, but they were troubling enough for the parents to visit a doctor. To their shock, the doctor revealed that the injuries were bite marks. The horrified parents then asked the residential complex to show them the CCTV footage.
In the clip, the baby was seen crying after the attendant slapped her, banged her head against the wall, and dropped her on the ground intentionally. The incident has raised serious questions about the safety protocols being followed by the daycare facility.
Sandeep and Monica, the baby’s parents, have been sending their daughter to the daycare daily for two hours since May 21. “We were told that there were three teachers and they would handle the child. We never knew the baby would be with the attendant. The owner of the daycare used to tell us, ‘Your child is very happy’. We were paying Rs 2,500 for two hours,” Sandeep told NDTV.
The parents have alleged that the childcare owner and the daycare abused and threatened them verbally when confronted about the assault. Taking immediate cognisance of the incident, a case was registered at Sector-142 police station against the maid and the head of the Blippi Pre-School and Day Care
centre, Charu, wife of Rishi Arora. The police promptly took the accused maid into custody and initiated further legal action.
On the incident, DCP Shakti Mohan Awasthi said, “Since the maid is a minor, authorities, including the Child Welfare Officer and Basic Education Officer, were informed to take necessary actions. We have also written to the Child Welfare Officer and Basic Education Officer to take necessary action against the daycare’s owner so that they can initiate checks, verify licenses, registrations, and inspect other daycares for similar issues at their level.”
The accused attendant has been sent to a juvenile home, and necessary actions are underway.
