The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has taken action against the renowned builder Gaur Sons in NCR’s Greater Noida.
A pile of filth has been found under a tower in Gaur City’s 14th Avenue, leading residents of the society to lodge complaints with the Greater Noida Authority. However, when no action was taken, they approached the NGT court, resulting in a notice being issued against Gaur Sons.

The authorities had also issued a notice previously in response to the residents’ complaints. The residents had reported that the builder had set up a garbage center in the basement of the Eye Tower of the society.
The Greater Noida Authority had issued a notice to the builder, but no response was received, with the builder claiming that the authority had given permission for the garbage center in the high tower.

In response to the residents’ petition, continuous hearings were held in the NGT court, and on August 3, the Gaur Sons builder faced a setback as the NGT issued a ‘show cause notice’ to them. The court questioned why the garbage was not disposed of despite the problems faced by the residents.
Additionally, a high-level committee has been formed, including the CEO and District Magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar, to investigate the matter. The NGT has instructed the committee to present a comprehensive report after visiting the society within the next one week.
The NGT’s actions highlight the importance of addressing environmental concerns and maintaining the cleanliness and well-being of residential areas. The involvement of the NGT and local authorities ensures accountability and the safeguarding of the residents’ interests.
